These works were displayed at Strangers' House Gallery, Mumbai as part of the dual show 'I Am Many Other Things' in 2025.

"Harleen Kaur's work exists in a conceptual in between, a vein of abstraction delicately positioned between image and verbal reality, where the viewer is asked to think about the interaction of movement,  colour and texture, and how this confluence might reflect their own lives. This process of giving shape to that what resists the verbal is a private and intimate experience for Kaur, and indeed for her viewers. It is why she locates this exchange (between surface and viewer) on manjarpatta, a fabric whose qaulities she finds to be more conducive than canvas. It is a delicate, fine, absorbent material on which Kaur's ink extends its tendrils, softly exploring the contours of the cotton, reaching out across the fabric in impossibly diffuse ways.

We through around the idea of absorbency with callous laissez faire-ness, but the degree to which something is absorbent (whether inanimate or human) is one of its defining charecterstics. There is a tender accpentance in Kaur's work, a careful folding of colour, often with layered pieces of fabric, whose edges are unadorned and undisguised. It allows for honesty to exude; the artist's hand is never hidden or cleanly tucked away, rather she gently confronts the complexities of our lives, with all their incumbent uncertainities and discomforts. There is a degree of solitariness in the way it is never clear if the trails of colour might in fact extend without boundary, way beyond the frames on which we find them, as if to say that we might never be ablet to contain our lives. But in fact of this there is a calmness, and this is Kaur's ultimate and intimate offer, to share in our individual and inexplicable feelings togther."
