2026
Made and displayed at Atelier 11, Cité Falguière, Paris during a spring resdiency in 2026.
Bringing this fabric that started its journey in the textile mills of Ichalkaranji and Bhivandi to Paris. Created within the 150 year- old atelier at Cité Falguière, the works are deeply informed by the walls themselves: weathered, layered, and marked by time. The chipped paint and exposed strata become a quite archive, revealing traces of the many artists who have inhabited the space before me - from Chaime Soutine in the 1900's and then by Mira Maudus for the next 50 years.
In response, I approcah the fabric as a similar site of accumulation where gestures, erasures, and pigments build and disolve. The compositions echo this dialougue between concealment, and revelation, allowing fragments to surface and recede, much like memory itself. These works become not just objects, but living records mapping presence, absence, and the continuum of artistic inhabition across time.
